The interview involved presenting a paper to the professors and then discussing its strengths and weaknesses. Following this, I was asked to propose improvements to the paper and explain my motivation for pursuing a PhD.
I liked the process. The hiring committee was really nice. I didn't have much time to ask my own questions during the interview, but they said I could email them afterwards if I had more questions.
The interview process had two stages and the atmosphere was really friendly and supportive. While a presentation wasn't mandatory, I had one ready just in case. They were keen to learn more about my research, and presentations are a good way to showcase that. The first interview went well, and then I had a follow-up chat with the head of the section.
