It was a pretty chill screening interview with the IT director. They might have a second interview with managers later on. From what I gathered, it sounds like they need a GIS lead or SME since there isn't really a GIS team or specific project for this role. About a few hours before the scheduled MS Teams meeting, they had to push it back because of a project deadline. It's been 3 weeks now and I haven't heard anything back, not even a rejection, after I thanked them and said I was still interested.
The interview was super chill but still professional. It felt more like a chat than an interrogation, but they did get to learn about me and my abilities. Overall, a really simple interview.
I applied for the job through Indeed.com. After about a month, a hiring representative called me to schedule an in-person interview for the next week at the company's Baltimore location. Even though the air conditioning was broken and it was very hot, the interviewers made me feel welcome. The interview was pretty casual, covering most typical questions. I enjoyed the conversation during the approximately forty-minute interview.
