Candidate-reported interview process

The interview process was very unprofessional. The staff did not show up for the scheduled interview time and did not respond to calls or emails about rescheduling or cancellation. It's fine if they decided it wasn't a good fit, but the no-show is extremely inappropriate. I had to use vacation time for this interview.

I had a phone interview with the hiring manager on Friday afternoon, lasting nearly 45 minutes. I felt it went well. At the end, the HM mentioned he had two more interviews the next week and I'd hear back after those concluded. However, I received an impersonal rejection email Monday morning at 6am. When I contacted HR, I got an out-of-office reply. I emailed the HM for feedback, but received no response. It seems he never intended to offer me the role, likely having HR send an automated rejection right after my interview. I'm glad I avoided working for a boss who handles things this way.

We did a phone screen with HR first. They asked basic questions about my experience. Then there was an in-person interview with both owners where they asked more technical questions about my past experience. They really focused on how to grow and scale the company.
